US VP Biden to meet Turkey’s President Erdoğan

Obama likely to have informal meeting with Erdoğan, White House says.

WASHINGTON (AA) – Vice President Joe Biden will hold a formal sit down with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the White House confirmed Tuesday.

The Turkish leader is in Washington for a five-day official trip in which he will participate in a nuclear summit that begins Thursday.

The Biden, Erdoğan bilateral meeting will take place the same day, according to the vice president's office.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters aboard Air Force One that he anticipates President Barack Obama will hold an informal meeting with Erdoğan.
